The Nitecore TUP is another ground breaking product from our favourite brand, which for the first time offers a torch small enough to fit onto a key ring with 1000 lumens output! Utilising a Cree XP-L HD V6 LED set behind a total reflective optic lens for a range of up to 180 meters.
Rechargeable via USB with a built in 1200mAh li-ion battery, which is equivalent to two RCR123 cells. In standby the TUP has an ultra-low parasitic drain of iuA for unprecedented battery life. The light will operate while on charge so works well with the Nitecore USB charging stand, which is available separately.
Despite its diminutive dimensions the TUP manages to find room for a OLED display that shows: battery voltage, brightness level, user mode and remaining runtime. A great feature and one that is usually reserved for torches costing several hundred pounds.
As well as the key ring attachment the TUP features a deep carry pocket clip that can also be attached to a cap peak for hands free use. Constructed from high strength aluminium with a hard anodised coating, the TUP weighs in at only 53 grams and the USB port is protected by a rubber cover.
Operated via dual switches with a power on/off button and a separate button to change brightness level. There are two user modes available; Daily Mode which provides constant output and Demo Mode which automatically shuts the light off after 30 seconds for short-time illumination. Modes can be changed by pressing both buttons simultaneously while the light is off. Direct access to Turbo brightness can be achieved by pressing and holding the mode button from off, and direct access to Ultralow by pressing and holding the power button. Two lockout modes prevent accidental operation.
Brightness Levels, Runtimes and Range
Turbo: 1000 Lumens - 15 minute runtime* - 180 meter range
High: 200 Lumens - 3 hour runtime - 75 meter range
Medium: 65 Lumens - 9 hour 45 minute runtime - 46 meter range
Low: 15 Lumens - 19 hour runtime - 22 meter range
Ultralow: 1 Lumen - 70 hour runtime - 7 meter range
*Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR) regulates the output of the TUP according to ambient temperature. The light output will lower to prevent overheating and damaging the LED and as such the turbo runtime will not be a continuous 15 minutes.
A highly efficient constant current circuit ensures there is no flickering for a comfortable viewing experience from the Nitecore TUP.
