The Nitecore TrailSight is engineered to complement, rather than replace, the traditional headlamp. Carried at waist level, it delivers a lower angle of illumination that enhances terrain visibility — highlighting rocks, roots, and elevation changes that overhead lighting can miss, making it a practical addition to any trail running kit.

Performance
Equipped with a NiteLab UHi 20 LED, the TrailSight delivers up to 1,200 lumens with a 530-meter beam throw. Its neutral white beam is calibrated to minimize glare and reflection in adverse weather conditions, including rain, fog, and snow. Three selectable brightness levels support a range of use cases, from short-range technical navigation to extended runtime of up to 46 hours on the lowest setting.

Construction
Constructed from die-cast magnesium alloy with a reinforced composite shell, the unit weighs 121 grams with battery installed. It carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, including submersion to 2 meters, and meets a 1-meter impact resistance standard — specifications suited to demanding outdoor conditions.

Power System
The TrailSight operates on a standard NL1840R 18650 rechargeable battery with USB-C charging, allowing for mid-activity charging via power bank or quick battery swaps. An optional cold-weather variant, the NL1840AW, retains over 80% capacity at temperatures as low as -40°C, extending suitability to winter and high-altitude applications.

Safety Feature
A dual-position locking mechanism allows users to lock the unit in either the on or off state — preventing accidental deactivation during use or unintended activation during transport.
