Beyond simple signaling, the NWE10 includes two purpose-built emergency modes:

• SOS Mode — automatically repeats the internationally recognized distress pattern roughly every three minutes, freeing you from having to manually re-trigger it.
• BEACON Mode — emits continuous beeping, ideal for marking your location so rescuers or groupmates can home in on your position.

Critically, once either mode is activated, the whistle keeps signaling on its own — even if you lose consciousness. It's designed to function as an ongoing acoustic homing beacon, not just a one-time alert.

Engineered for Harsh Conditions the NWE10 isn't a fair-weather gadget. It's rated to operate reliably down to -40°C (-40°F), making it suitable for high-altitude mountaineering, winter expeditions, and other environments where batteries and electronics typically struggle.
