The Nitecore NU50 sits at the high end of the Nitecore NU range with a maximum output of 1400 lumens and features a built-in rechargeable 5000mAh 21700 Li-ion battery, which is charged via USB-C port with rotating protective cover. Time to fully charge the NU50 is only 2.5 hours and in addition to the main white beam, the NU50 also features an auxiliary red light.

The NU50 manages to combine it's impressive performance with an ultra-lightweight package, weighing in at only 146 grams. The rear housing of the NU50 is made from high strength PC plastic and the front housing is constructed from aluminium alloy.

Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR) adjusts the output of the NU50 based on the working and ambient temperatures. This feature ensures that the device maintains optimal performance while preventing the LED from overheating. The output measurements account for the total runtime, including periods of reduced brightness due to temperature changes or built-in protection mechanisms, which may cause the brightness level to drop.

Each NU50 includes a hollow design headband with reflective strips to alert vehicles and pedestrians at night.

Ultra smooth 'TrueVision' technology produces a wide flood beam with a smooth hotspot. Operation is via a dual button interface with separate mode and power switches. The light can be angled up and down and features a near-centre of gravity bracket for easy adjustment.

A built-in optical sensor at the front of the NU50 detects obstructions ahead and automatically lowers the brightness to avoid overheating. There is also a lockout mode to prevent  accidental operation while the light is not in use. Remaining battery is displayed by four indicator lights.

Waterproof to IP68 (1.5 meter submersible for up to 30 minutes).
