The Nitecore NU40 is a compact, lightweight, high performance headtorch, powered by a built-in 18650 Li-ion battery.  The torch boasts a maximum output of 1000 lumens and maximum beam distance of 100 meters. 

The NU40 is rechargeable using the USB-C charging port and can be recharged in as little as 1.5 hours.  The torch offers 3 brightness levels along with a red and white light.  All this can be accessed using the dual button interface on the top of the light. The torch is attached to the headband using a near-centre of gravity bracket. This design allows for small rotation torque and short displacement when adjusting the headlamp. The bracket is also 72 degree adjustable.

Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR) adjusts the output of the NU40 based on the working and ambient temperatures. This feature ensures that the device maintains optimal performance while preventing the LED from overheating. The output measurements account for the total runtime, including periods of reduced brightness due to temperature changes or built-in protection mechanisms, which may cause the brightness level to drop.
