Description
The Nitecore UT27 MB is a lightweight trail running headlamp that upgrades the original UT27 with four independent light sources and dual-power flexibility.
The headlamp uses two quad-core MCT UHE LEDs paired with a multi-faceted optical lens system to deliver up to 800 lumens of white light with a beam distance of 168 meters, plus a flood beam spread of over 100° from a 44mm light-emitting surface for wide, even illumination. Three selectable color temperatures let you match the light to conditions: 3,000K warm light (CRI 98) for cutting through rain, fog and snow, 4,500K neutral white (CRI 85) for technical terrain like steep or muddy slopes, and 6,500K cool white (CRI 73) for flat, open ground.
What really sets this model apart is its red light. Rather than the dim auxiliary red glow found on most headlamps, it puts out a genuine 150 lumens with a 70-meter beam, giving runners real visibility of the trail underfoot and ahead, with three brightness levels plus SOS and slow-flashing modes. This is specifically designed to meet mandatory red-light-only requirements in certain trail races while preserving night vision.
The whole unit weighs just 74g (2.61 oz), and the housing is made from durable, high-strength polycarbonate with an IP66 waterproof and dustproof rating and 1-meter impact resistance.
For power, it uses the included HLB1500 USB-C rechargeable battery pack, or compatible 3 AAA batteries for dependable backup power. In its most efficient mode it can run for up to 21 hours in low-output red mode (10 lumens) using the battery pack.
It's built for trail runners and racers who need serious brightness, race-compliant red lighting, and minimal weight — but it's equally capable for hiking, camping, and backpacking.
Extras include dedicated white and warm light buttons, instant-access red light, a battery level indicator, and a 90° adjustable bracket for quick and intuitive operation, along with a four-way mounting clip, glow-in-the-dark battery compartment, and a diffusing stuff sack.
