The Nitecore MT40 is powered by 4xCR123A or 4xRCR123 or 2x18650 Li-Ion batteries and features a Cree XM-L LED with a maximum output of 860 lumens.

The LED is housed in a smooth polished parabolic reflector, which throws the beam over 350 meters, making it a powerful long range light at a reasonable price.

Useful features include a removable and reversible pocket clip, forward click switch with momentary-on ability, smooth parabolic reflector for long throw and waterproof to two meters.

The MT40 has four brightness levels plus strobe and SOS flashing modes. With the head in the tightened position the light will activate in turbo mode, lowering the output after three minutes to prevent over-heating. With the head slightly loosened the light will cycle through the other three brightness levels and two flashing modes. These levels have memory function.

Brightness levels based on 2x18650 2600 mAh batteries :

Turbo – 860 lumens: 1 hour 30 minute runtime
High – 530 lumens: 3 hour 30 minute runtime
Mid: 280 lumens: 7 hour 30 minute runtime
Low: 100 lumens: 24 hour runtime

Maximum beam distance 363 meters, waterproof to IPX-8 (2 meters submersible) and resistant to impacts up to 1.5 meters. The RSW1 remote pressure switch fits this torch.
